Absolutely wonderful skirt based on the XIX's crinoline, originaly made of horse hair and cotton or linen, a very thick and sturdy fabric worn under the skirt and supporting it's weight, allowing to give it a voluminous and rounded aspect, later replaced by a bone, wooden or light metallic structure.
This one is made of thick and sturdy cotton, still soft enough to be folded, with reinforced vertical structure bands and a waist with side straps to tie up. It can be worn under an other skirt to create dramatic volume, or over pants/skirt/dress to show it off.
Probably from spring 1994, as the collection features many voluminous skirt and drives inspiration into XIX's skirt lifters.
